History

A long history

The (La Poste) theater is a massive arch, in the middle of the Rhone valley. There is history behind the name La Poste, and dates back to the days when this ground was called Uberbiel (meaning, over the hills). This is where various traders met, exchanged loads from their horse carriages, and put their heavy loads on donkeys to make the journey over the high mountain passes.

During that time the ‘post’ also operated from this building. This post and trading centre was later turned into a hotel, and the horse stable was replaced with a theatre hall.

In 1991 the theatre was rebuilt by architects Keller and Cabrini, together with local builders.
